GBP menguat, kemudian merosot setelah IHK di atas ekspektasi – Scotiabank

Pound Sterling (GBP) masih berjuang untuk membuat dan mempertahankan posisi di area rendah 1,26 setelah data inflasi Inggris sebelumnya, catat Kepala Ahli Strategi Valas Scotiabank, Shaun Osborne. 

Lebih Banyak Kerugian GBP di Depan

"Inflasi utama turun kurang dari yang diharapkan (-0,1%) pada bulan Januari, mendorong laju pertumbuhan harga Y/Y naik menjadi 3,0% (dibandingkan dengan 2,8% yang diharapkan dan 2,5% pada bulan Desember). Harga layanan juga meningkat—menjadi 5,0% Y/Y—tetapi berada di bawah perkiraan (5,1%), sebuah hal positif kecil dalam data. Laporan ini menekankan pendekatan hati-hati terhadap penyesuaian kebijakan yang ditekankan Gubernur BoE Bailey baru-baru ini."

"GBP membuat sedikit kemajuan lebih lanjut melalui resistance retracement di 1,2610 sebelumnya tetapi ketidakmampuan spot untuk mempertahankan keuntungan (dan tertinggi siklus baru khususnya) membuatnya terlihat rentan terhadap kelemahan lebih lanjut.
