"The tide is turning against untrusted networks in 5G," US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Wednesday.

Back in late-June, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that they have designated Huawei and ZTE as companies posing a national security threat to the United States. Following that development, the UK government banned the purchase of Huawei's 5G components from the end of the year.

Market reaction

The US Dollar Index largely ignored these comments and was last seen posting small daily losses at 93.60.
