US stocks advance amid geopolitical and earnings

FXStreet (San Francisco) - Wall Street closed Monday with gains for second day as investors digested some optimism about the Ukraine and Russia crisis. In addition, good earnings results fueled confidence.

The Dow Jones advanced 16.05 pts or 0.10% to finish at 16,569.98; the S&P 500 added 5.33 pts or 0.28% to 1,936.92; while the Nasdaq Composite won 30.43 pts or 0.70% to end the day at 4,401.33.

AUD/NZD finds resistance at 1.0965

The AUD/NZD finished NY session on Monday with modest losses trading around 1.0945. The pair moved sideways during most of the day.
